Watersports For All

At windswept we believe that there should be no barrier to accessing watersports.

Paddle - Ability

At Windswept, we strive to make the sports we offer all-inclusive because we believe in equal opportunities for everyone. Inclusivity is a top priority and mission of Windswept CIC and Our paddle-ability program has been instrumental in creating a space where individuals with disabilities can experience the joy and therapeutic effects of being out on the water.

We firmly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to participate in sports and enjoy the many benefits they bring. That's why we have worked hard to ensure that our paddle-ability sessions are accessible and cater to the specific needs of each participant. We provide specialised equipment, trained instructors, and a supportive environment that fosters confidence and independence.

Introducing our adaptive equipment

The Banana Rocket and Green Machine… These mega SUPs are the perfect platform for an introduction into paddle-ability. These huge inflatable paddle boards are extremely stable and we have a range of adaptive equipment that can be mounted on top, including beach wheelchairs and various seats, allowing all abilities to experience the fun!

These boards are big enough so that family, friends and carers can all hop on and join in too.

Our Adaptive Paddle Board

This unique adaptive paddle board was designed by Ross Head and his team from Cerebra Innovation Centre and Cerebra Charity, who specialise in bespoke products to help people with disabilities discover the world around them.

Out Riggers

The out riggers are the red foam floats attached either side to the rare of the board. These have been designed to help keep the board stable, reducing wobble and making it almost impossible to flip while afloat! The board can be used independently or as a tandem for extra support.

Stacking Seat System

This stacking seat system complete with a removeable backrest, is ratcheted to the board. It is made up of a number of blocks which allows the height of the seat to be adjusted. Starting with the kneeling position we can gradually work with the clients to progress all the way to standing up!

Other Seating Options

We have a whole range of seating options when a float! Pictured above is one of our bucket seats, which can be mounted on all boards and offers a comfy and supportive way to paddle! We also use different shaped bean bags and wedges to help with the positioning of individuals with various needs.

Fancy a ride in our safety boat? Have a go at driving and explore the beautiful bay of Dale!

Our fully trained instructors and Marine Oxford Dipper Hoist means that no one gets left unsure or on shore!

Beach wheelchairs and swim wheelchairs available at the centre for some radical off roading!
