Equipment Hire Terms of Service

Terms And Conditions of  SUP Hire

1.    Young people under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times whilst on the water.

2.    You are responsible for your own safety whilst renting the stand-up paddle board (SUP). There will not be a safety vessel on the water to directly supervise hires.

3.    You understand and accept that stand up paddle boarding carries its own risks and you have made your booking on the basis that you undertake the hire at your own risk.

4.    You must not use the SUP or equipment under the influence of alcohol, strong medication, other drugs or when fatigued.

5.    No SUP is to be paddled outside the rental zone, which is marked on the map and will be shown to you by a staff member.

6.    You must wear a buoyancy aid at all times on the water. These are included with your hire.

7.    We advise that you wear suitable protective clothing whilst out on the water depending on the conditions (wetsuit, sunhat, sun glasses, sun cream etc).

8.    You will paddle and navigate your SUP responsibly at all times and at no point behave in a reckless manner.

9.    You will keep away from boats on moorings and at anchor. You must observe any reasonable instruction given by the harbour master.

10.You will not hold Windswept responsible for any loss, damage or injury including death to persons or property with regard to use of the SUP(s) and equipment hired. You accept responsibility to indemnify Windswept against any claim, interest, demand or expense in respect of such injury or damage.

11.You are responsible for the equipment hired and it is your responsibility to keep them safe from damage, loss or theft, use it in a proper manner and not subject it to any misuse or unfair wear and tear.

12.No SUP is to be towed by a boat except for the purpose of rescue.

13.You will notify Windswept immediately of any loss, damage or theft to the hired SUPs and or equipment howsoever caused. You will be responsible for paying reasonable costs of repatriation of any such loss, damage or theft.

14. You will not offer for sale, sell or lend the hired SUP or equipment.

15.Proof of identity (passport, driving license, card) may be required prior to hire and stored securely in our office until you return the equipment.

16.If the SUP is returned back to windswept late, Windswept has the right to charge for the extra time on the water.

Terms And Conditions of Windsurf and Wingsurf Hire

1.    Young people under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times whilst on the water.

2.    You must have undertaken a start windsurfing course/wingsurf lesson or have the equivalent experience (making ground up-wind and turning the board around). It is at Windswept’s staff discretion to assess your ability for hire.

3.    You may be advised to have a refresher lesson before you can hire with Windswept.

4.    You are responsible for your own safety whilst renting the equipment. There will not be a safety vessel on the water to directly supervise hires.

5.    You understand and accept that windsurfing and wingsurfing carry their its own risks and you have made your booking on the basis that you undertake the hire at your own risk.

6.    You must not use the windsurf equipment under the influence of alcohol, strong medication, other drugs or when fatigued.

7.    No wind/wingsurf is to go beyond the limits set out in the map.

8.    You must wear a buoyancy aid at all times on the water. These are included with your hire.

10.You will wind/wingsurf responsibly at all times and at no point behave in a reckless manner.

Terms And Conditions of Windfoil and Wingfoil Hire

1.    Young people under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times whilst on the water.

2.    You must already be able to wind or wing foil at a level appropriate to conditions on the day. You must be able to get the board going, foil upwind and turn the board around. It is at Windswept’s staff discretion to assess your ability for hire.

3.    You may be advised to have a refresher lesson before you can hire with Windswept.

4.    You are responsible for your own safety whilst renting the equipment. There will not be a safety vessel on the water to directly supervise hires.

5.    You understand and accept that windfoiling and wingfoiling are dangerous sports and you have made your booking on the basis that you undertake the hire at your own risk.

6.    You must not use the equipment under the influence of alcohol, strong medication, other drugs or when fatigued.

7.    No wind/wingfoil is to go beyond the limits set out in the map.

8.    You must wear a buoyancy aid or impact vest rated to 50N at all times on the water. Buoyancy aids are provided with your hire.

9.    You must wear a helmet. These are provided with your hire.

10. We advise that you wear suitable protective clothing whilst out on the water depending on the conditions (wetsuit, wetsuit boots, sun cream etc).

11.You will foil responsibly at all times and at no point behave in a reckless manner.

12.You will keep away from boats on moorings and at anchor. You must observe any reasonable instruction given by the harbour master.

13.You will not hold Windswept responsible for any loss, damage or injury including death to persons or property with regard to use of the wind/wingfoil(s) and equipment hired. You accept responsibility to indemnify Windswept against any claim, interest, demand or expense in respect of such injury or damage.
